After 5 years as CEO of Pollen8, an innovation consultancy and SaaS business Sam left his executive position in order to focus on the thing he loved doing most as a founder, coaching leaders & teams. He remained on the board, and we are proud to say Pollen8 was acquired by PwC in 2021. Since then, he’s worked with over 30 management teams and 50 leaders as an executive team coach. Coaching has brought to light the complexities of individuals working together. Everything from differing (or even contradicting) goals, how information is organised and shared, attitudes towards effort, different personalities and externalities are all interwoven in an intricate way of operating.

Sam’s focus is on the art of building high performing teams and fostering great leadership. When teams re-encounter their compassion, high morale and commitment, they can harness momentum week after week. Sam loves food, nature and people. He has a PDC in permaculture and tries to spend as much time as outside as he can; climbing, surfing and cooking & eating delicious food.

About Sam

Maya worked as an innovation consultant for 4 years, designing programmes to help large organisations identify and upskill employees to found and launch new products and services. She led Google Design Sprints, teaching teams core skills like problem-centric thinking, prototyping and pitching. She spent a couple of years bringing design and innovation methodology to various services in the UK public sector, mainly working on transformation projects with some product management.

In her spare time, Maya gained her yoga teacher accreditation and spent holidays on silent mediation retreats or exploring coastlines with surf buddies. She has found real joy and fulfilment bringing skills and passions from different spectrums together to design retreats that support teams and individuals to connect to each other and themselves. Maya heads up all things production and operations for Momentum Retreats.
